A-Level completion rate increased by 35% since the Government took office

Education Minister Dr Ismail Shafeeu revealed that the proportion of students completing their A-Level studies has increased by 35 per cent since the current Government took office. 

Speaking at the fifth Ahaa Forum, Minister Dr Shafeeu emphasised that under President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s development agenda, the top priority is enhancing the quality of education and expanding opportunities for students. 

He stated that under the policy to improve the education system, the biggest focus was on increasing the proportion of students who complete A-Level studies after completing O-Levels. 

Minister Dr Shafeeu stated that facilities have been expanded to enable 76 per cent of students in the Malé area to pursue A-Level studies and highlighted that students pursuing A-level studies in public and private schools increased by 35 per cent. 

He further stated that the final phase of implementing the President’s pledge to shift the academic year’s start in January will be completed by January next year.
