Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has formally denied recent claims circulating on social media suggesting that the company is planning changes to employee salaries and allowances.

According to a statement released by the company on July 20, the rumours are unsupported and appear intended to create confusion among staff and disrupt the ongoing efforts to complete the new terminal at Velana International Airport. MACL clarified that no internal discussions or decisions have been made regarding any amendments to employee remuneration packages.

The company emphasised that it remains committed to maintaining current salary structures and allowances in accordance with established rules and regulations. It further reaffirmed its continued prioritisation of employee welfare, describing its workforce as a fundamental asset in the company's operations and growth.

MACL also raised concern over the spread of misinformation, urging individuals to act responsibly and ensure accuracy when sharing information, particularly on public platforms. The company underscored the need for freedom of expression to be exercised with accountability and factual integrity.
