The High Commissioner of India to the Maldives, His Excellency G. Balasubramanian, paid a courtesy call on Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef at the President’s Office today.

During the meeting, the High Commissioner and the Vice President reaffirmed the strong and enduring partnership between the Maldives and India, highlighting their longstanding cooperation and shared values. They also emphasised the vital role of people-to-people connections as the foundation of the bilateral relationship.

The Vice President expressed the Government of Maldives’ commitment to deepening engagement with India, prioritising the relationship through mutual understanding and respect in all areas of cooperation.

This meeting comes ahead of the upcoming state visit by Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, scheduled for July 25–26, 2025.
