Digital Transformation Council established under Maldives 2.0 initiative

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has formally established the Digital Transformation Council, a high-level body mandated to oversee the implementation of the Government’s “Maldives 2.0 – Digital-First Nation” initiative.

Formed on the recommendation of the Cabinet, the Council will be chaired by President Dr Muizzu and tasked with coordinating State institutions to deliver secure, transparent, and efficient public services through digital innovation.

The Maldives 2.0 initiative, sets out a reform agenda that prioritises digital transformation as the foundation of governance and service delivery. The programme is designed to modernise state operations, simplify processes, and provide citizens with faster and more reliable access to services. With the creation of the Digital Transformation Council, the Government intends to drive these efforts forward in a coordinated and sustainable way.
