Appointments made to the Digital Transformation Council

Members have been appointed to the newly formed Digital Transformation Council, the high-level body responsible for steering the Government’s Maldives 2.0 – Digital-First Nation initiative.
The Council, chaired by President Dr Muizzu, brings together senior figures from across Government and related institutions to oversee the implementation of the Maldives 2.0 Roadmap for 2025–2028. The roadmap sets out a programme to modernise State operations, improve transparency, and deliver public services more efficiently through digital innovation.
Among those appointed are Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusaan, Minister of Finance and Planning Moosa Zameer, Minister of Education Dr Ismail Shafeeu, Minister of Health Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim, and Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works Adam Shareef Umar. The Council also includes Chief of Staff at the President’s Office Abdulla Fayaz, State Minister for Homeland Security and Technology Dr Mohamed Kinaanath, Digital Transformation Strategist at the President’s Office Siyah Khaleel, and Managing Director of TradeNet Maldives Corporation Limited Saeeda Umar.
Formed on the recommendation of the Cabinet, the Council has been tasked with coordinating efforts between State institutions to ensure digital reform is carried out in a consistent and sustainable way. The body is expected to play a central role in shaping how technology is integrated into governance, with the aim of giving citizens faster and more reliable access to essential services.
