The Criminal Court has ruled that the continued remand of former Controller of Immigration, Mohamed Shamaan Waheed, is necessary, having regard to the alleged exploitation of expatriates central to the case.

At yesterday’s hearing, the Prosecution adduced over eighty exhibits in evidence against him.

Shamaan’s lawyers, however, maintains that he has committed no wrongdoing and has sought a review of the State’s case in connection with his appeal.
