President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has urged unified national action to ensure that every child in the Maldives is guaranteed safety, dignity and opportunity, in a message on X to celebrate World Children’s Day.

The President highlighted that children form the foundation of a prosperous future for the Maldives, underscoring the Government’s responsibility to safeguard their wellbeing and support their growth. He called on collective efforts to uphold children’s rights and ensure that no child is left behind.

World Children’s Day is observed annually on 20 November and is dedicated to promoting children’s rights, safety and access to essential services. The day marks the adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), which sets out global standards for protecting children and ensuring their full development.
