Dhiraagu has donated MVR 678,800 raised through this year’s Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race (DMRR) to 13 NGOs working to protect and support children across the Maldives.
The contributions were announced at the DMRR 2025 prize-giving and donation handover ceremony. Speaking at the event, Dhiraagu’s Senior Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility said this year’s theme, “Help Protect Children, underscores the company’s continued commitment to child protection and community wellbeing.
According to Dhiraagu, the event was powered by renewable energy, with all electricity use fully offset, reflecting the company’s effort to make large-scale events more environmentally sustainable.
As part of registration, runners could nominate an NGO of their choice. A special grant of MVR 200,000 was distributed among the five organisations that received the most nominations. In addition, all 13 partner NGOs received proceeds from the event, including MVR 100 from each participant’s registration and revenue from special bib sales, totalling MVR 478,800.

DMRR remains the Maldives’ first and only international run listed on the AIMS World Running calendar, featuring a World Athletics-certified route and attracting both local and international participants.
