A Chinese company, Rotime Engineering and Technology Co. Ltd., has been contracted to develop and repair roads in Hulhumalé Phase 1 and Phase 2, under an agreement signed on December 3. The contract, signed by HDC Managing Director Ali Zuhair and Rotime’s Managing Director Xu Weidong, includes developing five roads in Phase 1 and the road near Vinares Flats in Phase 2, totaling 1.1 kilometres of new asphalt roads. The company will also undertake repairs on damaged roads, including Fithuroanu Magu and other key routes. According to HDC, Phase 1 will see all untarred roads completed, with the entire project expected to finish within six months.
