The Road Development Corporation has been awarded the contract to develop roads in Gaafu Dhaalu Fiyoaree on 25 December 2025. The contract was formalised by Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure Dr Abdulla Muththalib on behalf of the Government, while RDC Managing Director Ibrahim Nazeem signed on behalf of the corporation, officially commencing the project.
