Leader of the Parliamentary Group of the People’s National Congress (PNC) and the party’s campaign manager for the upcoming Local Council Elections, Ibrahim Falah, has urged voters to prioritise island development over political rivalry.
Falah made the remarks while speaking at a special ceremony held in Thinadhoo City to officially launch the PNC’s campaign for the 4 April Local Council and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) Elections
Addressing the gathering, he said President Dr Mohamed Muizzu holds high expectations for the development of Thinadhoo City and called on residents to vote for candidates contesting on the PNC ticket to implement development projects aligned with the President’s vision.
Falah expressed confidence that the people of Thinadhoo would prioritise development, describing them as intelligent and educated voters who understand the importance of long-term progress for the city.
He further stated that President Dr Muizzu has a clear vision to transform Thinadhoo into an economic hub and urged residents to seize the opportunity presented by the Local Council Elections.
“There are challenges facing Thinadhoo City, but these can be addressed by electing PNC councillors,” he said, adding that the election period is not a time for political rivalry, but a time to focus on the future of the island.
Concluding his remarks, Falah said the PNC will work to select candidates to contest the elections on the party’s ticket.
