First Lady and Chief Guide Sajidha Mohamed has met with Niumath Shafeeq, Chair of the Asia Pacific Regional Committee of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), to discuss ongoing efforts to strengthen and expand the Girl Guide Movement in the Maldives.

The meeting was held at the Official Residence of the President, and was attended by senior members of the Maldives Girl Guides Association. Discussions focused on current initiatives and future plans aimed at enhancing the reach and impact of the Girl Guide Movement nationwide.

The meeting explored opportunities to expand Girl Guide activities to additional locations across the Maldives, as well as proposed projects designed to further develop the skills, leadership abilities and personal growth of students participating in guiding programmes.

The Maldives Girl Guides Association conducts a wide range of activities focused on empowering girls and young women through education, leadership development and community engagement. Established in 1948, the association currently involves more than 14,000 students from 88 schools across the country.
