The Ministry of Social and Family Development has conducted the second batch of capacity-building training for case workers, aimed at strengthening frontline responses to gender-based violence (GBV) and domestic violence (DV).

The three-day programme, from 10 to 12 February, is organised in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Maldives. The training focuses on enhancing practical skills for applying the national Procedure Manual on Responding to Cases of GBV and DV, which was developed in partnership with the Family Protection Authority and UNFPA Maldives.

According to the Ministry, the programme is designed to improve case workers’ ability to deliver survivor-centred services while ensuring safety, confidentiality, and ethical practice in case management. The training also addresses risk assessment and response related to domestic violence, intimate partner violence, child protection concerns, and the overall wellbeing of survivors.
