All services previously provided through Dhamanaveshi are now available from two alternative locations following the temporary closure of the facility's building for redevelopment, Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has announced.

The former Thalassaemia Centre building in Malé, which currently houses Dhamanaveshi, was temporarily closed as work begins to develop the city's second Urban Primary Health Care Centre. IGMH said services will now be provided through the Urban Primary Health Care Centre in Maafannu and the GP Clinic in Hulhumalé Phase II.

The hospital has advised members of the public seeking further information to contact 3335335.

Dhamanaveshi provides a range of preventive and community healthcare services, including childhood vaccinations, growth monitoring, consultations for common illnesses, health screening programmes, smoking cessation support and counselling services.

Chief Executive Officer of the Malé City Group of Hospitals, Ibrahim Abdul Razzaq Haleem, previously stated that Dhamanaveshi services operating in Malé would be transferred to the new Urban Primary Health Care Centre in Henveiru once the facility is completed. The new centre is expected to provide a range of services, including improved access to specialist referrals and support for national public health programmes.
