President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has expressed condolences following the death of Sidheeq Ali, a long-serving public servant who held several senior positions in Dhaalu Meedhoo and served the state for more than three decades.

In a post on X, the President extended sympathies to Sidheeq’s family and paid tribute to his years of public service. He prayed for the deceased to be granted eternal peace and blessings in paradise.

Sidheeq passed away on June 2 after a prolonged illness. Throughout his career, he served in a number of key administrative roles in Meedhoo, including Meedhoo Island Chief and Deputy Chief, and later as the head of the Meedhoo Council.

He also worked as a teacher at the Atoll School during the 1980s and was involved in public service for more than 31 years.

The President's message recognised Sidheeq’s contributions to both Meedhoo and the Maldives through his long record of service in education and local administration.
