President Dr Mohamed Muizzu addressed key environmental concerns facing the Maldives in the inaugural episode of The Pulse, a new podcast series launched by the President’s Office to engage with the public on issues of national importance.

Released on World Environment Day, the first episode focused on environmental challenges, including coastal erosion, waste management, and the environmental impacts of land reclamation and development projects.

During the discussion, President Dr Muizzu reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to environmental protection, describing it as a core pillar of national policy. He stressed that development and environmental sustainability must progress together and highlighted ongoing efforts to safeguard the country’s natural environment.

The President also spoke about the Government’s Five Million Trees Programme, encouraging citizens to participate in the initiative to expand green spaces and strengthen environmental sustainability.

Hosted by Government Chief Spokesperson Mohamed Shareef, The Pulse is designed to provide a platform for addressing public concerns and explaining Government policies. The first episode also featured questions from Vaguthu journalist Yameen Mohamed.
