President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has congratulated the 137 National Service graduates who successfully completed the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF)'s 72nd Basic Training Course.

In a message shared on his official X account, President Dr Muizzu highlighted that many of the participants who completed the National Service Initial Training had gone on to take up employment opportunities across various sectors.

The President noted that the batch comprised 137 young people from 70 islands across all 20 atolls of the Maldives who had stepped forward to serve the nation through the armed forces.

He stated that the Government introduced the initial training programme under the Maldives National Service to cultivate a generation of responsible young people who are self-confident, strong in faith, spiritually and physically resilient, and committed to the Maldivian national identity.

President Dr Muizzu also expressed his sincere appreciation and gratitude to all the youths who had dedicated themselves to what he described as the noble service of the armed forces.

The National Service Programme is a flagship Government initiative aimed at empowering young people through structured training, education and civic engagement. Since its launch, hundreds of participants have completed the programme, receiving training and certifications designed to strengthen leadership skills, promote community service and support personal development.
