Maldives, Saudi discuss counter-terrorism cooperation

The Maldives and the Saudi-led Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) have held discussions on strengthening counter-terrorism cooperation, expanding joint training and enhancing technical capacity-building efforts.
The discussions took place during Minister of Defence and National Service Hassan Rasheed's official visit to Saudi Arabia at the invitation of the Kingdom's Minister of Defence, Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. During the visit, Hassan Rasheed met with Major General Abdullah bin Hamed Al-Qurashi, Deputy Military Commander of the IMCTC.
The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation in counter-terrorism through joint training initiatives and capacity-building programmes. They also discussed strengthening strategic collaboration to address emerging regional and global security threats.
Both sides underscored their shared commitment to promoting peace, stability and security while further strengthening cooperation in counter-terrorism and defence.
