A fireworks display will be held tonight during the Maldives Financial Expo 2026, with the expo also featuring a children's evening from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. including entertainment, sports activities and prize giveaways. The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) said visitors will also have the opportunity to win MVR 25,000 in cash each day, in addition to other prizes.

The three day expo, which returned this year after a nine-year hiatus, was inaugurated by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu on Thursday and runs until Saturday from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Hulhumalé Central Park. The event brings together key financial sector institutions to promote financial literacy and provide information on banking, insurance, loans and other financial services, with entry open to the public free of charge.
