Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) has appointed Ahmed Nasir as the new General Manager of Human Resources, effective December 15, 2024.

Under his tenure, Nasir will be responsible for optimising the workforce and ensuring that MIFCO's human resources are aligned with its strategic objectives. He will conduct a comprehensive assessment of the skills and competencies of all MIFCO personnel, working directly with CEO Dr Vitaliy Lyubimov. Following this, a comprehensive programme aimed at the company's sustainable development will be presented to the relevant Government officials.

Prior to this appointment, Nasir has demonstrated extensive experience and expertise in human resources management. This marks the first major personnel decision under Dr Lyubimov's leadership at MIFCO.

In a statement released, Dr Lyubimov praised the current management team's competence and responsibility. He emphasised their qualifications to drive sustainable development within the fisheries sector and stressed that building trust in MIFCO remains at the core of his leadership.

Dr Lyubimov was appointed as MIFCO's CEO by the Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB), and officially commenced his role on December 10, 2024. He is a Ukrainian-born crisis management expert with 20 years of experience.
