The Ministry of Arts, Culture and Heritage held a special engagement session titled "Tharikaveringe Adu" on Wednesday to gather the views of professionals and incorporate their perspectives into planning and decision-making across the cultural sector.
The session, held at the National Museum Hall, formed part of the Government's efforts to better understand the challenges faced by those working in the heritage sector and identify practical solutions through closer collaboration with professionals.
During the engagement, Minister of Arts, Culture and Heritage Heena Waleed met with heritage professionals and creators to discuss their work, exchange ideas and explore ways to further strengthen cultural activities and initiatives in partnership with the Government.
Speaking at the session, Minister Heena said the discussions generated a range of ideas on how the Ministry and creators could work together to advance the country's cultural sector. She added that increasing the participation of experts would also support the Government's efforts to strengthen national identity and revive appreciation for Maldivian heritage.
Participants also highlighted the importance of holding similar engagements regularly to bring together professionals from different disciplines to exchange ideas and discuss shared challenges facing the sector.
The event concluded with a cultural programme featuring traditional refreshments, a heritage exhibition curated by the National Heritage Centre, and traditional board games, including Ohvalhu and Thinhama.
