StatePharma has announced that it will launch a digital portal in September to enable the public to check the availability and prices of medicines at State Pharmacy outlets across the Maldives.

The company said the portal is designed to improve access to medicines and address concerns about locating essential drugs. It noted that many people are unsure which pharmacies have the medicines they need, and the new platform will allow users to check medicine availability from anywhere.

StatePharma Managing Director Dr Shah Mahir has previously said the company is also strengthening the national medicine supply system through the introduction of an enterprise resource management (ERP) system and an e-logistics system.

He said the first phase of both systems has been completed, enabling authorities to monitor medicine stock levels nationwide. The system is also expected to help forecast the country's medicine requirements, allowing medicines to be procured in advance and reducing the risk of shortages.

StatePharma said the initiatives are part of its efforts to ensure a more reliable supply of quality medicines and improve public access to essential drugs across the country.
