The Minister of State for Cities, Local Government, and Public Works, Uz Moosa Fathuhee Adam, has raised concerns regarding the former administration's misappropriation of the state budget.

Speaking on MMTV Bodu Khabaru programme, the State Minister criticised the allocation of funds by former government, suggesting it was wasteful and primarily benefited senior officials.

Citing examples, Uz Moosa Fathuhee stated that during the past administration's five-year term, the state's major projects and companies failed to adequately support small and medium enterprises (SMEs), many of which have since gone bankrupt.

Highlighting the scale of financial mismanagement, Uz Moosa Fathuhee revealed that a single state-owned enterprise was burdened with debts amounting to MVR 4.8 billion. He also identified FENAKA Corporation and MTCC as entities grappling with substantial financial liabilities.

The State Minister expressed concern over the broader impact of such debts on ordinary citizens, describing them as detrimental to the public's welfare.
