MoHE opens applications for 14 scholarships from Bangladesh and Japan

The Ministry of Higher Education, Labour, and Skills Development has announced 14 scholarship opportunities from Bangladesh and Japan, providing Maldivian students with valuable opportunities to pursue higher education in key fields.

Under the 'SAARC Scholarship MBBS/BDS Scholarship Programme 2024–2025' offered by Bangladesh, seven bachelor’s degree scholarships are available, including six for MBBS and one for BDS programmes..

In addition to the SAARC scholarships, Japan’s 'Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Programme 2025' offers master’s degree opportunities across 24 universities.

Eligibility criteria for the Japanese scholarship include holding a bachelor’s degree obtained at least three years prior to application, a minimum of three years of relevant work experience, not holding dual citizenship, and not being employed by the World Bank.

The deadline for the SAARC Scholarship is January 14, 2025 at 12:00 PM.

The 'Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Programme' has two application windows: the first from January 13 to February 28, 2025, and the second from March 25 to May 23, 2025.

The Ministry has opened applications for both rounds of the SAARC and Japanese scholarship opportunities. Interested candidates can find detailed information in the Ministry Gazette or by contacting the Ministry directly via the hotline 1474 or by email.
