Looking ahead, the minister confirmed that 2025 will be a year focused on implementing more initiatives aimed at safeguarding the country’s environment. He expressed gratitude towards the ministry's employees for their contributions over the past year, highlighting that many of the ministry's objectives had been met.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has also set an ambitious target for the country, aiming to make the Maldives climate-ready within the next five years. Despite the nation’s ecological vulnerabilities, President Dr Muizzu has emphasised that Maldivians should remain in their homes and continue to focus on environmental preservation.
