President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced plans for a comprehensive generator replacement programme to be implemented nationwide to resolve power supply issues before Ramadan.

Speaking to Gaafu Dhaalu Fiyoari residents during his ongoing Huvadhoo Atoll tour, the President highlighted the Government's priority to address persistent electricity concerns across the islands.

Acknowledging that FENAKA's power plant generators have deteriorated due to inadequate maintenance, President Dr Muizzu stated that the Finance Ministry and state-owned enterprises have initiated joint remedial measures. He assured that improvements would be evident within two months.

The President stated that the Government aims to install new generators across all islands, ensuring uninterrupted power supply during Ramadan. He emphasised that no island would be excluded from this nationwide initiative.
