President Dr Mohamed Muizzu committed to major development projects including land reclamation and housing during his meeting with Kan'duhulhudhoo Island Council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) in North Huvadhu atoll today.

During the meeting at the North Huvadhu Atoll Kan'duhulhudhoo Council Secretariat, members raised pressing infrastructure concerns including harbour limitations, an unfinished multipurpose hall, and football ground renovation needs. They also raised issues regarding both the health centre's accessibility ramp and electrical system.

The President expressed dedication to finding solutions for these challenges, and accompanying ministers shared progress reports about current initiatives taking place on the island.

The visit is part of the President’s 2024 pledge to conduct direct consultations with councils throughout the Maldives, as he continues his nationwide initiative of visiting atolls, islands and cities to discuss community needs.
