President assures national development free from political vendetta

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, in his address to the residents of Gaafu Alif Maamendhoo, reaffirmed that his Administration will foster peace and promote development in the Maldives, free from political vendetta. 

In this regard, the President stated that his Administration will not engage in political harrasment towards anyone, focusing on peace, stability, and national development instead. He attributed stability to development and peace within the society, assuring the citizens that the Administration will take decisive against any attempts to disrupt peace.

Speaking to the residents, the President also outlined various development plans aimed at improving the quality of life in Maamendhoo. He announced the Government's intention to resume and expedite the sewerage system projects, ensuring swift progress. Following this, work will commence on constructing roads to appropriate standards, with a focus on efficiency, he added.

Addressing the ongoing issue of coastal erosion in Maamendhoo, President Dr Muizzu pledged to collaborate with the island council and relevant government agencies to implement interim measures while working toward a permanent solution.

The President also highlighted that MVR 1 billion has been allocated for housing in the State budget with the aim of providing affordable housing options. 

Throughout his address, President Dr Muizzu reaffirmed his Administration’s focus on unity, progress, and practical solutions.
