Minister of Foreign Affairs concludes official visit to the UAE

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, Dr Abdulla Khaleel has wrapped up his official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) today. 

In key talks with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister Dr Khaleel explored ways to strengthen cooperation and identify fresh collaborative opportunities between the two countries.

The visit included meetings with senior UAE government officials to discuss potential partnerships in tourism, fisheries, renewable energy, connectivity and infrastructure development. Minister Dr Khaleel also engaged with prominent UAE investors, highlighting the Maldives' interest in fostering business relationships.

The Minister acknowledged the UAE's continued backing and substantial contributions to the Maldives' development, emphasising the shared values and economic aspirations that underpin their partnership.

The Minister's delegation included Ambassador-at-Large Abdullah Hameed and Joint Secretary Mariyam Reesha from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The visit was conducted at the invitation of UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
