Elnur Mammadov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has paid a courtesy call on the Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef on January 15, 2025.

The meeting, held at the President’s Office, reinforced the strong diplomatic relationship between the two nations, established on June 15, 2006. Discussions centred on expanding cooperation in key areas such as climate change, culture, trade, and tourism.

In this regard, the Vice President highlighted the recent introduction of direct flights between the Maldives and Azerbaijan as a landmark achievement. He noted that this initiative would not only boost tourism but also strengthen cultural and economic ties between the two nations.

The two leaders further discussed strengthening bilateral relations and exploring collaboration in shared areas of interest, such as climate change, culture, trade, and tourism.
