President visits Baltic region’s largest data centre in Tallinn

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu visited Greenergy Data Centres (GDC) in Tallinn on January 16, as part of his official visit to Estonia.
Upon arrival, he was warmly welcomed by Mr Kert Evert, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Development Officer, alongside Mr Toomas Kell, Chief Technology Officer.
During the visit, President Dr Muizzu received a detailed presentation from Mr Üllar Jaaksoo, the Founder of GDC. Mr Jaaksoo outlined the Centre’s mission to serve as a key advisory hub, championing a future where connectivity and digitalisation underpin progress. The presentation showcased GDC's dedication to sustainable innovation and fostering a digitally connected society.
Following the presentation, the President toured the facility, where he was briefed on its energy-efficient operations and advanced data storage systems. The visit offered a closer look at the Centre’s integration of cutting-edge artificial intelligence-driven security systems and sophisticated surveillance technologies.
Founded in 2020, Greenergy Data Centres is the largest data centre in the Baltic region. Sustainability lies at the heart of its operations, with the facility relying on renewable energy sources and employing innovative waste heat recycling measures to enhance energy efficiency. It plays a leading role in the region’s sustainable digital transformation, particularly in providing reliable and environmentally friendly digital connections, including infrastructure for island communities.
