The Minister of State for Homeland Security and Technology, Dr Mohamed Kinaanath, has lauded President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's recent state visit to Estonia as a success, highlighting three key memoranda of understanding (MoUs) signed between the two nations.

One of the key MoUs focuses on strengthening the Maldives' technological infrastructure through enhanced cooperation in digital development.

"This agreement will enhance our technological capabilities in the Maldives," said Dr Kinaanath, who heads the National Centre for Information Technology (NCIT).

He emphasised the strategic importance of partnering with Estonia, a country widely recognised as a digital pioneer.

The second MoU centres on climate change and environmental cooperation, reflecting both nations' commitment to addressing global environmental challenges. The third MoU establishes a framework for political consultation between the foreign ministries of both countries, paving the way for regular diplomatic dialogue and enhanced bilateral relations.
