Representatives from three nations, impressed by the "e-Faas" system – designed to provide Government services through a single platform – are scheduled to visit the Maldives this year to study the model, announced Dr Mohamed Kinanath, State Minister of the Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology.

Speaking on MMTV's Bodu Khabaru programme, Dr Kinanath discussed the ongoing efforts to digitalise Maldivian government services.

Dr Kinanath explained that several small island nations similar to the Maldives have expressed interest in the architecture of the "e-Faas" application, which has been designed to provide numerous government services online through a unified platform.

"These nations have shown keen interest, with representatives from three countries expressing their desire to visit the Maldives to examine how we have developed the architecture," Dr Kinanath said.

According to Dr Kinanath, the e-Faas application currently serves 240,000 users in the Maldives. Highlighting that this represents 70 per cent of the Maldivian population, the State Minister revealed that the Government aims to increase the user base to 100 per cent.
