The Family Court reported that a total of MVR 97 million was verified as paid through the court in 2024.

According to statistics released for 2024, these expenses include spousal support, Iddhah expenses, maternity costs, and dowry payments. The court further reported receiving MVR 46.8 million in connection with various cases during 2024 and disbursing MVR 47.5 million to beneficiaries for cases processed in 2023.

Throughout the year, the Family Court issued 12,096 court appearance orders and handled 4,101 trial-related cases. Of the 227 cases submitted to the Conciliation Division for Family Matters, 119 were resolved amicably, and six written agreements were made to settle disputes between spouses and determine custody arrangements for children of divorced couples.

Additionally, 3,428 individuals participated in the marriage awareness programme, with a near-equal representation of 1,746 males and 1,682 females. The court also conducted 2,485 marriages, 1,326 divorces, and registered 181 marriages performed abroad in 2024.
