A new cohort of police recruits has begun their basic training at the Addu City Campus of the National College of Policing and Law Enforcement.
According to Maldives Police Service (MPS), 39th edition of the training programme commenced on January 18, 2025, with 210 participants, including 162 male and 48 female recruits.
The opening ceremony was attended by Assistant Commissioner of Police Ahmed Abdul Rahman, the Executive Director of the National College of Policing and Law Enforcement, along with heads and staff members from various departments of the institution.
Over the 17 week programme, the recruits will receive extensive training tailored to meet the challenges of policing. The curriculum includes physical fitness, operational safety, tactical procedures, legal knowledge, and other critical areas of law enforcement.
This training is a crucial effort to provide the new recruits with the skills and expertise necessary for effective policing. By combining both practical and theoretical instruction, the programme ensures the recruits are well-equipped to perform their duties with competence and professionalism.
