The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has commenced the distribution of dates gifted by Saudi Arabia to the Maldivian people in time for Ramadan.

The distribution programme, which began today, will continue until February 6, operating daily from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Islamic Centre's Conference Hall.

In the Greater Malé Area, residents can collect their allocation from the Islamic Centre, while distribution across the atolls is being coordinated through local island and city councils. Each household is eligible to receive one packet of dates upon presenting their electricity meter number and a valid identification card.

To ensure an orderly distribution, authorities have established a systematic approach based on household registration, making the process more efficient and accessible to all citizens across the country.
