Vice Admiral (Retd.) Faisal Rasul Lodhi, the newly appointed High Commissioner of Pakistan to the Maldives, has called on the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Abdulla Khaleel on January 20,2025. 

Minister Dr Khaleel welcomed the High Commissioner and congratulated him on his new role, noting the longstanding and positive relationship between the Maldives and Pakistan. 

The two leaders discussed opportunities to expand their collaboration and enhance their partnership across various sectors. The Minister expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s ongoing support, particularly in human resource development, a vital area of cooperation, and emphasised the importance of advancing this partnership to benefit both countries.

High Commissioner assured Minister Dr Khaleel of his commitment to working closely with the Maldivian Government to deepen cooperation in areas of shared interest.

The meeting was also attended by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sheryna Abdul Samad, Additional Secretary Aminath Abdulla Didi, and Director Asheer Abdul Azeez from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Second Secretary Zulqurnain Ahmad from High Commission.
