The Parliament's Committee on Independent Institutions has initiated an investigation into Maldives Broadcasting Commission (Broadcom) Vice President Mohamed Fazeen over allegations of sexual harassment.

The inquiry, launched on January 20, centres on allegations involving a female employee of Broadcom. Fazeen was summoned to the committee on the morning of January 21 as part of the investigation process. The session was conducted in private due to the sensitive nature of the information under review.

Fazeen has been associated with Broadcom since his appointment as a member on March 7, 2021. He later assumed the role of vice president on 19 January 2023.
