The Maldives Stock Exchange (MSE) has launched an automated online trading system for listed securities, marking a significant shift in the nation's financial market infrastructure.

The system's launch coincides with MSE's 17th anniversary and introduces real-time order processing for registered brokerages. A key feature is the Order Management System (OMS), a web application enabling automated order matching through modern technology.

Additionally, the Maldives Securities Depository (MSD) unveiled 'Trade Connect' on their infinity.mv platform, allowing account holders to conduct trades online through their chosen brokers.

MSE emphasised that the modernisation would significantly improve investor access to the securities market. The system replaces the previous email and telephone-based trading methods, streamlining the entire trading process.
