The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has reopened its national landmark design competition with an extended deadline, offering Maldivians aged 18 and above an opportunity to create iconic structures for key locations across the country.
The competition’s new deadline for design submissions is 28 February 2025 at 6:00 PM. To further support participants, MMPRC will host an information session on 17 February 2025 at 2:00 PM. The session, available both online and in person, will provide detailed insights into the competition’s objectives, judging criteria, and submission process.
In a statement released by MMPRC, the ten best designs will each receive a cash prize of MVR 20,000 and a sponsor-provided gift package. Submissions must comply with competition rules, including format requirements and deadlines, outlined in the official announcement. Participants are encouraged to design structures that reflect the Maldives’ cultural heritage and natural beauty.
This relaunch builds on an earlier MMPRC initiative announced in November last year, which detailed submission guidelines and sustainability criteria for the designs. Those guidelines emphasised key factors such as safety, durability, and aesthetic appeal.
Interested individuals must register for the information session by 15 February 2025 at 6:00 PM by sending their name, national ID card number, address, contact information, and email address to [email protected].
