President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended warm wishes to the Palestinian leadership as the nation commemorates the anniversary of its Declaration of Independence.

In separate messages, President Dr Muizzu reached out to both Dr Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine, and Mohammad Mustafa, Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs.

President Dr Muizzu paid tribute to the remarkable resilience and unwavering determination of the Palestinian people in their steadfast pursuit of justice in the face of ongoing oppression. He emphasised the nation's resolute and principled stance in supporting the Palestinian cause, firmly reiterating the Maldives' dedication to advocating for a fully sovereign Palestinian state within the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem serving as its rightful capital.

The President concluded the messages by conveying profound wishes for enduring peace, sustainable prosperity and meaningful progress for the brotherly people of Palestine.
