The Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) has banned the import, sale, and use of 'Pantop 40 Injection' in the Maldives due to quality concerns.

In a statement, the MFDA confirmed that the affected batch, identified as EMPH24303, has been deemed unfit for use.

The authority has instructed all pharmacies and healthcare facilities to report any stock of the injection and dispose of it in accordance with the disposal guidelines issued by the MFDA.

The agency further stated that importers and drug suppliers have been reminded of the necessary standards for transporting and storing pharmaceuticals to ensure their safety.
