Maldives has achieved significant economic and diplomatic milestones over the past year, setting a strong foundation for future development and paving the way for more tangible progress for the Maldivian people. These remarks were made by the Speaker of Parliament and Chairman of the People's National Congress (PNC), Abdul Raheem Abdulla, during the "Hafuthaa 52" programme on PSM News today.

The Speaker highlighted key achievements, including the cessation of currency printing – a Presidential promise – and improved state revenue management, particularly praising President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's Administration for its success in strengthening economic stability. He also noted that the country's core values had been protected whilst maintaining beneficial international relationships.

Speaking further, the Speaker highlighted the President's success in creating a safe environment, fulfilling a key Presidential pledge and marking a significant milestone in the Government's first year.

The Speaker emphasised that these accomplishments have created a robust platform for continued national progress.

He notably remarked that a Parliament focused on obstructing the Government or led by a Speaker with personal agendas would impede national progress, and he pledged his continued support in ensuring the Government's success in achieving future milestones.
