President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has affirmed that the Government will continue to extend full support and assistance to all islands equally, regardless of the outcome of the Council elections and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) elections.

He made the remarks at a gathering held in Rasdhoo on Saturday night to celebrate electoral victories in Alifu Alifu Ukulhas, Thoddoo and Rasdhoo.

Addressing a large crowd, President Dr Muizzu said the PNC had secured a significant victory nationwide, while noting that there were also losses in some areas, including public referendum outcomes.

He emphasised that election results would not influence how the Government engages with islands, assuring that all islands will receive equal treatment along with full cooperation and support. The President reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with all councils to deliver on Government pledges.

President Dr Muizzu also stated that his Administration will treat all citizens and islands equally, with no room for discrimination. He added that any obstacles posed by councils would be made transparent to the public and addressed to ensure continued development.

Describing the wins in Ukulhas, Rasdhoo and Thoddoo as a historic achievement, he reiterated that Government assistance and development efforts would not vary based on political outcomes.

The President further called on PNC candidates who were elected to serve all residents equally and ensure fair delivery of services.

He concluded by thanking residents across the islands who supported PNC candidates, expressing appreciation for their trust and confidence.
