Maldivian youth will soon have a dedicated urban space as the underutilised Muliaage vehicle garage transforms into the "Zuvaanunge Third Space," addressing longstanding concerns about the lack of youth facilities in Malé.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu unveiled the initiative following today's Cabinet meeting, outlining plans for community building and creative expression in the capital city.

Once completed, the centre will feature an array of modern amenities, including virtual reality (VR) training facilities, community art walls and areas for boot camps. Additionally, mental health support services and skill exchange programmes will be available, alongside a cafeteria serving locally inspired, healthy food. Small and medium-sized food vendors will also benefit from dedicated areas to showcase their products.

Considering the site's proximity to schools, the Cabinet has already approved comprehensive traffic management measures for the Lily Magu location.

Through this initiative, the Government demonstrates its commitment to providing inclusive spaces for youth recreation, education and social engagement in the capital.
