Health Minister Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim has confirmed that 99 per cent of essential medicines in the Maldives have now been imported through the State Trading Organisation (STO) system, addressing recent concerns over shortages and high prices. Efforts are underway to strengthen the supply chain, with the Ministry working alongside relevant authorities and suppliers to ensure stable medicine availability. Additionally, the Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) is improving drug registration processes to support the ongoing efforts.
