Maldives participates in the PATA summit

The Maldives has participated in the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) summit in Istanbul, Türkiye.
This year’s summit was held from 21 to 23 April. The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Meenas Shaugy, and the Managing Director of MMPRC, Ibrahim Shiuree, participated in this summit to represent the Maldives.
This year’s theme was “Timeless Wisdom for a Sustainable Future.” Over 260 tourism industry stakeholders from 35 destinations participated in this summit to further discuss and find a solution to bring sustainable development to the tourism industry.
In addition, the stakeholders discussed the importance of inclusivity in the industry and implementing data-driven strategies to boost the demand for tourism and their experience.
The Tourism Ministry stated that participating in such summits will provide valuable experience and contribute to the expansion and development of the industry.
