The first flight of Hajj Pilgrims is set to depart on May 26 to take part in this year’s Pilgrimage.

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs revealed that the Maldives Hajj Corporation has arranged a total of four flights to carry pilgrims to Saudi Arabia this year.

Scheduled Hajj flights:

  • May 26 - 235 Pilgrims
  • May 27 - 257 Pilgrims
  • May 29 - 250 Pilgrims
  • May 30 - 250 Pilgrims

On May 27 and 29, pilgrims will travel to Saudi Arabia aboard the national airline, Maldivian.

This year, the Saudi government has extended the opportunity for Maldivian pilgrims to participate in the Makkah Route Initiative. To implement this initiative, a senior delegate from Saudi Arabia visited the Maldives.

Participating in the Makkah Route Initiative will provide greater ease and improved facilities for the pilgrims. This initiative aims to streamline immigration procedures by completing them at the departure airport, allowing pilgrims to bypass lengthy processing upon arrival in Saudi Arabia. This initiative will officially launch on 26 May.
