Maldives Immigration and Police on Friday detained multiple undocumented migrant workers from Thilafushi as part of the ongoing Operation Kurangi. The operation involved a coordinated effort of 28 immigration officers and 35 police personnel.

During the raid, 33 foreign nationals were detained for residing in the country without valid visas. Additionally, 22 individuals were issued written warnings for violating immigration regulations. A total of 257 immigrants were checked during the operation, highlighting the scale of the effort to regulate immigration compliance in the Maldives.

This effort, carried out under Operation Kurangi, is part of ongoing initiatives by Maldives authorities to address issues related to undocumented migrants and ensure compliance with the nation’s immigration laws. The operation reflects the Government's commitment to maintaining legal order and protecting national security.
