The Maldives Police Service has stated that its officers visited the Maldives Broadcasting Commission (Broadcom) to assist with a server issue, and not as part of any investigation.

The clarification follows rumours suggesting that police had entered the MBC office in connection with an ongoing case. The police have said that the Commission had requested technical assistance to resolve a problem with its server, prompting the deployment of police data technicians to the office.

Officials confirmed that the visit was limited to providing support for a technical issue and was not related to any investigative activity.
